Grace Golf: Ladies Claim Invite Title

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – A groundbreaking fall season hit its peak over the weekend for the Grace College women’s golf team with a win at the Mt. Vernon Nazarene Invitational.
The Lady Lancers beat out Crossroads League foes St. Francis, MVNU and Spring Arbor by 11 strokes to climax a memorable fall season.
Grace broke new program records for best tournament score, best one-day score, and best individual round over the weekend.
Three Lady Lancers finished in the top four on the individual leaderboard. Sydney Abbott had the steadiest hand, carding a 79-77 to finish second overall.
Lauren Keiser and Anna Marshall each set a program record by shooting a round of 76. Keiser shot her 76 on Saturday, while Marshall had hers on Friday. Both players finished with a 157 to tie for third.
Libby Tully’s 86-80 placed her 10th in the tournament, and Stevie Luebbert’s 87-86 rounded out the scoring.
As a team, Grace shot a 314 on Saturday to set a new round record. Grace’s 636 also broke the program record for a two-round tournament.
Marshall will represent Grace at the NCCAA National Championships on Oct. 23-25 in Florida to officially wrap up the fall season. She will become the second Lady Lancer to compete at the national tournament, following Keiser’s appearance last season.
