Triton Volleyball: Pilgrims Set The Ambush
PLYMOUTH – Playing in its final home match before the IHSAA state volleyball tournament, Plymouth turned away Triton 25-13, 25-20, 25-16 Thursday night.
Triton, which had come into the match off of a quality win Tuesday at Wawasee, never got its engines going against the hosts. Nicole Sechrist had nine kills to lead the offense, Courtney Jennings adding seven kills. Hannah Wanemacher recorded 12 assists and Quinn Downing paced the defense with 12 digs.
Plymouth, which moved to 21-12 with the win, stopped a mini two-game losing streak with the win. The Pilgrims will host the Class 4-A sectional next week, meeting South Bend Clay.
Triton, at 19-11, will take on North Miami Thursday in the Class 1-A Oregon-Davis sectional.
Plymouth’s JV rolled to a 25-7, 25-18 score on Triton.
