Rodger L. Sherk
Rodger L. Sherk, 73, Rochester, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver.
He was born Nov. 7, 1942 in Plymouth, the son of George and Beulah (Beyler) Sherk. On June 23, 1963 in Teegarden, he married Bonnie Cowen and she survives.
Mr. Sherk had worked on various farms over the years and retired from Wilson Fertilizer and Grain. He had been a member of the Silver Creek Church of God, and enjoyed farming and spending his time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Sherk, Rochester; children: Beth (Sherk) and husband John Hilbert, Rochester; Betsy (Sherk) and husband Chris Gardner, Rochester; Ryan Sherk, Rochester; grandchildren: Kirsta Gardner and Caleb Gardner, both of Rochester; Charity Sherk, Taylor Sherk and Braxton Sherk, all of Argos; sister, Genie Dipert, Plymouth; Doug and wife Kathy Dipert, Walkerton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George F. Sherk; mother, Beulah Sherk Dipert; step-father, Paul Dipert; and sister, Becky Dipert.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday Oct. 14, at Sand Hill Cemetery, Rochester with Pastor Tom Craig and Chaplain Jason See officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County 4-H. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester.
