Lou Anne Guilford
Lou Anne Guilford of Lafayette passed peacefully on Oct. 5, 2016 following her battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia on July 13, 1963 to the late Larry and Ruth Jo Pyle. Following her mother’s death in 1964, she was raised by her paternal grandparents Ernest and Zula Pyle and her father until he remarried in 1967. She was adopted by her stepmother Sue Borton Pyle who survives.
Lou Anne was a graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1981 and Purdue University in Lafayette in 1985. She lived in Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Indiana throughout her life, but always considered the family farm in Mentone her home. While living in Florida, she met the love of her life, her husband, David Guilford. Together they sent many years happily married and raised two sons, Corey and Cody. She enjoyed running, biking, swimming, camping, drawing, painting, and writing.
Lou Anne was a loving and devoted mother, wife, and true and trusted friend to many. She was a dedicated and valued employee, working in Analytical Chemistry, Information Technology, and Instructional Design for the same company for 28 years.
Lou Anne is survived by her best friend David Guilford; her sons Corey and Cody Guilford of Lafayette; stepmother Sue Pyle; two brothers Kevin and wife Janet and Brian and wife Melissa Pyle; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Jo Fields Pyle; father Larry Pyle; sister Jennifer Pyle Witham; grandparents and many extended family members.
Time and Date of Memorial Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at Bethany Presbyterian Church 3305 Longlois Dr., Lafayette with memorial visitation one hour prior to the memorial service. Then a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at King Memorial Home 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone with memorial visitation one hour prior to the memorial service.
