UPDATE: Moped Accident in North Webster
NORTH WEBSTER: A moped driver was transported from the scene of an accident by a medical helicopter around 5:30 p.m on Thursday, Oct. 6.
According to the accident report, Walter Larue, 53, North CR 100E, Warsaw, was traveling northbound on Kalorama Road, North Webster. The responding officer concluded that Larue and his moped left the right side of the road and Larue was ejected from the moped. It is possible that Larue also struck a utility pole in the process.
Larue was located in a ditch away from the moped, which was found in the road. It is unclear why Larue left the road in the first place as he was unable to recall the accident. Larue did know that he was traveling home from work in North Webster.
There were no witnesses to the crash.
Larue was transported to Parkview Health Fort Wayne by Life Flight medical helicopter. He suffered internal head and chest injuries.
