Ina Clingerman — UPDATED
Ina M. Clingerman, 90, Columbia City, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at Miller’s at Oak Pointe.
Born Sept. 5, 1926 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Samuel B. and Mary M. (Smith) Long.
She moved to Whitley County in 1938. She attended school in Allen County and Larwill. She retired from Viking in Columbia City with 17 years of service in 1986, and had worked at Precision Plastics in Columbia City, Whitley Products in Pierceton, G.E. in Fort Wayne, Blue Bell in Columbia City and lastly Hardees, in Columbia City. She had been a member of Big Lake Church of God. Ina enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends, cooking, riding horses and working in her yard. She also had been an avid bowler on both women’s and mixed leagues.
Survivors include her sons: Don F. (Sharon) Clingerman, of Columbia City; and David Clingerman, of Albion; ten grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Junior Long; sister, Lanetta Ford; and husband Donald E. Clingerman.
Visitation is 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with funeral services to follow. She will be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery next to her brother.
Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. Clingerman’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
