Blackhawk Christian Sectional 40

Whitko fell 8-1 at the hands of Blackhawk Christian in the semifinal of the Sectional 40 Tournament held at Blackhawk in Fort Wayne. The Wildcats were down 7-0 before earning their only goal of the match.

Blackhawk will play Manchester for the sectional title Saturday night.

Whitko finishes the season at 0-16.

Argos Sectional 41

Lakeland Christian picked up a postseason win with a 9-0 throttling of Culver Wednesday night.

The Cougars (9-6-1) got four goals from Noel Blum, two from Parker Stewart and one each from Landon Twombly, Remington Swanson and Garrett McCoomb.

Blum also had two assists. Stewart accounted for two assists as well. Cross Williams recorded and assist and Theran McKeever notched two assists for the Cougars.

Argos (16-1-1) picked up a win in the other semifinal on the night, a 5-1 decision over Bremen. LCA will play the No. 3 ranked Dragons Saturday night at 7 p.m.

Plymouth Sectional 7

Wawasee defeated NorthWood 2-1 thanks to a goal in the final seconds from freshman Chris Pena. It was the Warriors first sectional win since 2010.

Wawasee (5-10-2) will face Plymouth (13-3) in Saturday’s championship game. Plymouth defeated Culver Academy 3-1 in the evening’s second semifinal. Wawasee fell to Plymouth 5-0 last Thursday in the regular season finale.

Saturday’s title game will be played at 6 p.m.

Goshen Sectional 8

The host RedHawks topped Memorial 2-0 to advance to the title game. Goshen will face Concord in that title match. The Minutemen topped Northridge 2-1 in Wednesday evenings second semifinal.
