Julie A. Munson
Julie A. Munson, 65, Warsaw passed away 1:07 p.m., Sept. 30, 2016 in her residence.
On Dec. 18, 1950 she was born to Ben and Lois (McDaniel) Detterman in Warsaw. A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County Julie graduated from Warsaw High School in 1969 and attended Ball State University.
Julie served as a dispatcher for the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department from 1991 until her retirement in 2008. She was a former owner of Warsaw and Bodkin Abstract Companies in Warsaw. She was the Past Governor of the Indiana Land Title Association, served on the Board of Directors for Big Brother & Big Sisters of Kosciusko County. In 1989 she was named Who’s Who of American Women and was a member of N.E.N.A. She had also served as an E.M.T. for Multi-Township E.M.S.
Julie is survived by her cousins: Jeanne Schutz; Jon (and spouse Jan) Shutz; Elaine (and spouse Don) Spitler; Libbie Tom, all of Warsaw; and Bill (and spouse Barbara) McDaniel of Texas; along with her best friend Rita (and spouse Larry); and her beloved pet Max, as well as many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ben and Lois; her sister: Sylvia Detterman; and her brother: Ben Dettermen.
A visitation will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested for the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 3489 E. 100 South, Pierceton, IN 46562.
