Michael D. Snyder — UPDATED
Michael D. Snyder, 58, Columbia City, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Monday Oct. 3, 2016 to attend his final race in heaven.
Born on Feb. 2, 1958 in Wellsville, N.Y. he was the son of Horace and Opal (Tanner) Snyder.
Michael attended local schools. He was a mechanic at Jim Barnett’s Marathon Station for many years.
Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, auto body and paint work, building race cars, drag racing, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and his Dachsund, Spike.
Survivors include his daughter, Holly (Cunning) Silvey; son, Michael (April) Snyder both of Columbia City; grandchildren: Destiny Sky Beckley and Michael Dean Snyder, both of Columbia City; siblings: Cathy Stanley of Columbia City; Cynthia Kempton and Joseph Snyder both of South Whitley.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Funeral services for Michael will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
