Triton Football: Bluejays Fly Past Trojans
NORTH JUDSON – A hot start and a big game from Drake Lewis carried North Judson to a 38-12 win over Triton Friday night.
The Bluejays tallied the first 24 points of the contest en route to winning the Hoosier North Athletic Conference matchup.
The host scored 17 points in the pivotal second quarter to take a 24-0 lead at halftime.
Lewis, who rushed for 195 yards on just 16 carries, scored on an 85-yard kickoff return. He also had TD runs of 74 and 34 yards in the win.
James Snyder accounted for both touchdowns for the Trojans. He ran for a 15-yard score and also tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Zac Pitney for the Trojans.
North Judson outgained Triton by a 261-171 count in total yards.
Max Slusser had nine carries for 72 yards to lead the Triton offense. Snyder was 7-21 passing for 26 yards.
North Judson, which beat Triton 62-6 last season, improves to 2-4 overall and 3-3 in league play. Triton drops to 0-7 overall and 0-6 in conference action.
Triton hosts Knox next Friday night.
