Triton Tennis: No Surprises At Bremen
BREMEN – The earth didn’t shake in Bremen Thursday night. The Bremen Boys Tennis Sectional played out as most expected, with Plymouth and Bremen running out to 5-0 wins in the semi-finals over LaVille and Triton.
Plymouth gave up just one game the entire night to an overmatched LaVille squad.
Bremen was about as solid in its win over Triton, giving up just three games in four of its wins while the No. 1 singles court went the distance.
The No. 1 doubles team of Jacob Strehler and Chandler Snyder shut out Keygan Mosier and Chase Butler while No. 2 singles Carter Filchak shut out Aaron Stichter.
At No. 3 singles, Zach Burkholder knocked out Carter Kuntz one and one while the No. 2 doubles tandem of Bryce Tolle and Bryce Ginter bulldozed Jared Bules and Tyler Heckaman love and one.
At No. 1 singles, Bryce Sterling came out on top against Mace Eads, but needed to rally big time. Eads came out on top in the first set, 7-6, but Sterling would break serve in the second set to claim a 6-4 win, and would do the same in the third set to clinch the shutout.
Bremen and Plymouth will meet Friday at 4:30 p.m., Plymouth looking for its 20th straight sectional title, Bremen looking for its 15th overall title and first since 2003.
