NorthWood Tennis: Panthers Fall To Falcons
GOSHEN – NorthWood was unable to keep its boys tennis team season alive, losing 4-1 to a talented Fairfield team Thursday night in the Goshen Boys Tennis Sectional. It’s No. 1 doubles team, however, is still alive.
NorthWood’s No. 1 doubles team of Cam Stillson and Brant Mast are alive in the state individual tournament after beating Jesse Grimm and Dylan Kaufman 7-6 (2), 7-6 (3).
Joel Mast was impressive at No. 1 for Fairfield, shutting out Jared Hoffman while Clayton Bender at No. 2 won 7-5, 6-2 against Wes Troyer. Isaac Miller made it a clean sweep of the singles courts for Fairfield with a shutout of Landon Holland.
At No. 2 doubles, Fairfield’s Joel Kropf and Aaron Streit held off Trevor Klotz and Jack Wysong 6-3, 6-4.
Fairfield will meet Jimtown in the semi-finals Friday. Goshen and Bethany will meet opposite in the other semi-final. The championship match is slated for Saturday.
