IHSAA Instituting Charge Policy For XC Tourneys
INDIANAPOLIS – The IHSAA has put into motion to charge admission for its state cross country tournaments, beginning with the sectionals on October 8.
The association will charge $5 per person for admission, which is commiserate with other sports’ tournament admission such as soccer and volleyball.
Locally, sectionals at OxBow – hosted by Elkhart Central – charge $2 to park, which is a state parks fee, and has for several years. The admission charge is on top of the parking fee.
The charge will hold for the sectional, regional and semi-state tournaments. Elkhart Central and Culver Academy will host both sectional and regional events that include teams from Warsaw, Wawasee, Triton, Tippecanoe Valley, Lakeland Christian Academy, NorthWood and Fairfield, and Fort Wayne Northrop’s sectional and West Noble’s regional will host runners from Whitko.
The New Haven and New Prairie semi-states also will charge $5 per person.
The IHSAA State Finals in Terre Haute charges $8 per person.
