Warsaw
The following accidents were investigated by the Warsaw Police Department:
3:04 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, East Winona Street and South Scott Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Saylor M. Bradley, 16, Hartzler Street, Warsaw, and Samuel J. Engle, 65, CR 600S, Claypool. Bradley was traveling eastbound on East Winona Avenue, preparing to turn left onto South Scott Street. Bradley did not see Engle coming westbound on East Winona Avenue. Bradley began to turn and the two vehicles collided head on. Damages up to $25,000.
3:44 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, Provident Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Corine Hudson, 72, North Lakeview Drive, Warsaw. Hudson was attempting to pull into a parking spot when she accidentally pressed the gas pedal rather than the brake pedal. She then drove over the curb and struck the passenger side front and rear door of an unoccupied parked car. Damages up to $2,500.
4:01 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, Lake City Highway and East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Lee E. Newswanger, 54, South Third St., Pierceton. Newswanger was rear-ended while stopped in traffic. The individual who rear-ended him drove away and was unable to be located. Damages under $750.
5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, North SR 15 and CR 350N, Warsaw. Driver: Katherine V. Hines, 20, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Hines was unable to stop in traffic and rear-ended the car in front of her. The individual she hit left the scene and was unable to be located. Damages up to $5,000.
5:18 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 1750 County Club Road, Warsaw. Driver: James F. Holderman, 62, South Talley, Warsaw. Holderman blacked out as he was driving southbound on Country Club Road. When he awoke, he had struck a mail box and a garage. Damages up to $25,000.
8:12 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, North Detroit Street and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Clay J. Miller, 21, Orchard Drive, Warsaw, and Deborah L. Phillips, 55, North Alpine Drive, Mexico. Miller rear-ended Phillips. Damages up to $5,000.
