Jackson Faces New Charges For Intimidation With a Deadly Weapon
SYRACUSE — Alexander Jackson, 24, 11548 North SR 13, Syracuse has been arrested with new charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon after being charged with attempted murder in July.
Jackson’s new charges are intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; intimidation, a level 6 felony; criminal recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 6 felony; and invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 27, the victim in the new charges was chased in his vehicle and shot at by Jackson. Jackson rammed his vehicle into Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputy Don McCune’s vehicle, who then shot Jackson to stop his aggression. This original case led to Jackson being charged with attempted murder, battery resulting in bodily injury to a public servant, resisting law enforcement and two counts criminal recklessness.
On Aug 1, the victim involved with the vehicle chase obtained a protective order against Jackson. The protective order states that Jackson is to refrain from harassing, annoying and direct or indirect contact with the victim.
On Sept. 11 the victim was driving with his wife southbound on SR 13 in Syracuse. He observed a black Chevy flatbed truck, driven by Jackson, headed northbound on SR 13. The black truck intentionally veered into the victim’s lane of traffic, coming directly toward him.
The victim was able to swerve his vehicle and turn left to avoid a collision. If the victim had not made the evasive move to avoid being hit, Jackson would have struck his vehicle head on. The victim turned onto a side street and headed directly to the Syracuse Police Department to report the incident. He advised that he feared for his and his wife’s safety.
A Syracuse Police Officer spoke with the victim’s wife at the police department. She advised that she saw a black truck swerve across traffic into their lane of travel, causing her husband to swerve from being struck. She was scared for her safety and said that her husband was visibly shaken by the incident.
Jackson was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Sept. 28 with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
