Tippecanoe Valley Adds Step To Salary Schedule
AKRON — At a short meeting between the Tippecanoe Valley Board of Trustees, the board approved an agreement between the Board of School Trustees and the Tippecanoe Valley Classroom Teacher’s Association.
The agreement is for the school year of 2016-2017 and states everyone on the school’s insurance will receive an increase of $85 on their coverage. This averages out to about 1.8 percent increase for families and 3.8 percent increase for a single person.
This will be the first health insurance increase in two years for Tippecanoe Valley employees.
The agreement also included a salary schedule for teachers. For every year of experience a teacher has, their salary will increase a set amount per the schedule.
The agreement added steps to the salary schedule so teachers will be able to continue receiving salary increases even if they have been teaching for over 19 years. The agreement adds a twentieth step to the schedule. Thirty-seven teachers this school year will receive a salary increase from the twentieth step.
