Triton Tennis: Trojans Wrap Up Tourney Play
KNOX – The Triton boys tennis team wrapped up play in the conference tournament Thursday night.
The Trojans went 0-3 in championship matches, losing all three decisions to host and HNAC champion Knox.
Mace Eads of Triton won his first set 6-4 at No. 1 singles in the finals before losing the final two sets 6-4, 6-0 to Eian Coad of Knox.
Jacob Heinemann of Knox topped Carter Kuntz of Triton 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 in the finale at No. 3 singles.
The Knox duo of Ethan Cooper and Jake Krueger beat Keygan Mosier and Chase Butler of the Trojans 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Aaron Stichter of Triton won his consolation match at No. 2 singles 10-8. The Triton No. 2 doubles team of Tyler Heckaman and Jared Bules won 10-7.
Knox claimed the HNAC championship at 6-0. Triton finished 4-2, with North Judson 2-4 and LaVille 0-6. Knox also claimed all-conference honors at all five positions as the Redskins won tournament titles at all spots.
