Ellabelle Carr
Ellabelle Carr, 85, a lifetime resident of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, with her devoted husband by her side.
Ellabelle was born Nov. 7, 1930 in Kosciusko County to Theries D. Doll and Minnie A.(Simon) Doll. She was married to Jack M. Carr June 28, 1952.
She graduated from Syracuse High School and was a member of the Eastern Star and Calvary United Methodist Church. She managed the Weatherhead and Dana Credit Union for many years until she retired. She loved to be outdoors and cherished her family and “many” pets. Some of the best advice she gave her children were “Keep your ceiling fan moving so no one can see the dirt” and “Never learn how to clean fish.”
She is survived by her husband; three children: Christie (Dennis) Schanlaub, Connie (John) Yadon, and Carol Carr. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Christopher Mays, Neil Pilgrim, and Emily Pilgrim and two great grandchildren, Izabella and Reed Mays. She is survived by her brother, Arnold (Pete) Doll.
She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Caron (Jim) Pilgrim and two brothers, Elvin Doll and Herman Doll.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at the Eastlund Funeral Home with Pastor David Henry officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 1:30–3:30 p.m.
