Beverly A. Wheeler, 84, Columbia City, died at 10:12 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at Miller’s at Oak Pointe where she became a resident on July 21.

She was born Jan. 29, 1932, in Green Township, Noble County, a daughter of Bert and Gwendolyn (Ward) Menzie. Her formative years were spent in the Larwill area. She completed her education at Larwill High School.

On July 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Harold Goodrich. They made their home in Larwill and Michigan. Mr. Goodrich died Oct. 28, 1950.

On Oct. 1, 1966 she was united in marriage to Thomas William Wheeler. They made their home at Bear Lake for 10 years, moving to their home in Ormas in 1976. Mr. Wheeler died Feb. 22, 2002.

She worked at Dana in Churubusco for 18 years.

Surviving relatives include six children: Steve (Diane) Goodrich, Gratiot, Wis.; Tom (Debra) Goodrich, Albion; Janet (Duane) Waybright, Larwill; Greg Wheeler, Columbia City; Suzanne (Harry) Plotner, Amboy; and Brad (Lydia) Wheeler, Columbia City; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Pat Juillerat, Columbia City. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas. The visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home.
