Interra Credit Union Announces Promotions of Marshall, Birky
David Birky and Andy Marshall have been promoted to senior leadership positions at Interra Credit Union, Amy Sink, CEO, announced. “With proven records of leadership within the Interra organization, David and Andy will lead teams that are singularly focused on supporting the goals of the credit union to best serve our members,” Sink said.
Birky continues in his position as executive vice president and chief strategy officer, with additional responsibilities, leading the finance, marketing, human resources and technology divisions.
He first joined the Interra staff in 2001, serving as president of Interra Investments, located at the credit union. For the last two years, Birky headed the retail, marketing and investments areas. Prior to employment at Interra, he held positions as an investment banker and fixed income portfolio manager.
Birky earned his MBA degree in finance from the American Graduate School of International Management. He completed his undergraduate studies at Goshen College where he received a bachelor of arts degree and currently serves there as an adjunct professor in the business department.
Active in the Goshen community, he is past president of both the Goshen Rotary Club and the Oaklawn Foundation, and currently serves as treasurer for Goshen Youth Soccer Organization and is board member at College Mennonite Church. Birky and his wife, Beth, have two children, Madeline and Hugh.
Marshall will continue as executive vice president, with the expanded role of chief operating officer, overseeing the retail, mortgage, consumer services, commercial and agribusiness services, and enterprise risk management divisions.
He began his tenure at Interra in September, 2014, as executive vice president and chief lending officer. Prior to that, he worked in the financial services industry, heading the small business and retail divisions at a regional bank in Northeast Indiana.
Marshall earned a bachelor of science in business and accounting from International Business College, Fort Wayne. He later graduated from the three-year Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. In 2012, he was selected as a 40 under 40 for Emerging Leaders in Northeast Indiana. Marshall has served on several boards in the past such as Boys & Girls Club, Kiwanis, chamber of commerce, The River Christian Church and United REMC Foundation.
A native of Markle, Indiana, Marshall and his wife, Angie, now reside in the Middlebury area with their two children, Clayton and Kelsey.
