LCA Sports Wrap: Sept. 13
Boys Soccer
The Lakeland Christian Academy boys soccer team saved its best for last Tuesday night.
The host Cougars tallied the game winning goal in the final minute to earn a 2-1 win over Culver.
Noah Blum took a pass from Josh Turner and nailed the winner with just 55 seconds to play in the match to give LCA the victory.
Blum, a junior, scored in the first half to give his team a 1-0 lead. The Cougars held on to that lead at halftime thanks to a great play from Landon Paris. The freshman defender cleared the ball off the line to save a game tying shot attempt by Culver.
Junior goalie Cross Williams had three saves for the Cougars in the win.
LCA outshot Culver 12-5 and had a 5-4 edge on shots on goal in the contest.
LCA, which improves to 5-3, plays at Lakewood Park Christian Thursday night.
