Firefighter Hits The Gym’s Stair Climber To Remember 9/11
MARYVILLE, TENN. — A photo of a firefighter in full gear is going viral for all of the right reasons.
The photo features a firefighter in full gear climbing a stair climber in a gym.
The photo has been shared over 100,000 times since it was posted.
Jason Harding, 33, of Knoxville, Tenn., was photographed early Sunday morning by a worker at Planet Fitness in Maryville, Tenn.
A front desk associate with Planet Fitness said on a Facebook post, “This man asked if it was okay for him to climb 110 sets, fully suited, of stairs in honor of his fallen brothers and sisters for 9-11. Yes sir, you can. I am not one to get emotional, but a few tears were shed. Thank you for your services.”
Jason Harding is a Public Safety Officer in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Harding decided to climb the stairs in full gear because he was unable to attend the National Stair Climb due to being on duty later that day, his wife, Kristen, said.
The National Stair Climb is a way for firefighters and members of the community to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live. Each participant pays tribute to a FDNY firefighter by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.
