Family Safety Day Success Despite Rain
WARSAW — The scattered showers and downpours didn’t stop the crowds from coming to the Family Safety Day at Warsaw’s Central Park. The event lasted from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and had more than enough activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Some of the more popular activities were the zip line rides from the Warsaw/Wayne Fire Territory, bucket rides from Kosciusko REMC, the free bike helmets and fittings from the Kiwanis Club of Warsaw, Police K-9 demonstrations and boat rides from the Warsaw DIVE Team.
Children were also able to create a free safe assured ID, handprint snow plows that will be used by the town this winter, and get their faces painted.
Parents and adults weren’t left out of the fun. The Red Cross had their Bloodmobile vehicle available for donating blood, mobile mammographies were offered by Francine’s Friends and Heartline Pregnancy Center was onsite with their Image Clear Ultrasound Unit.
Sponsors for the event included Kosciusko REMC, Lutheran Health Network and Protechs, Inc.
