Whitko Schools September Students Of The Month
PIERCETON — The following students were nominated as September students of the month.
Amy Hurd – Whitko High School
Hurd was nominated for being a good student as well as her success in archery. She took home top marks from the NASP/IBO Outdoor Shooting Championship earlier this month, was named the top high school female and overall female championship at the national event and took third place in the three-star challenge. Hurd was nominated by Whitko High School staff member, Mary Herron.
Nicholas Meadows – Whitko Middle School
Though the school year is young, Meadows has impressed his teachers with his positive attitude and work ethic. Meadows was nominated by the eighth grade staff.
Aylah Grostefon – South Whitley Elementary School
Grostefon has been an inspiration to her teacher, Vicki Sprunger. Grostefon is very polite and well mannered. She has been a good friend to the other students who aren’t quite sure about kindergarten. Sprunger has heard her give encouraging words and a pat on a back saying” it will be okay” with her cute little smile, to others in tears. Sprunger attests she can count on Aylah to pick up after free choice and patio time even though she didn’t get the items out to play.
Grostefon was nominated by kindergarten teacher, Vicki Sprunger.
Kylie Keirn – Pierceton Elementary School
Keirn works hard, follows Cubs guidelines, and is always respectful to adults and students. Keirn was nominated by Teacher, Tasha Kinney.
