Carroll M. ‘Kaydo’ Petry
Carroll “Kaydo” M. Petry, 85, North Manchester, died at 6:46 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Aug. 20, 1931 in Pitsburg, Ohio to Wilmer A. and Edna Lucille (Brower) Petry.
He was a pastor at Spring Creek Church of the Brethren 1951-1953; Batavia Church of the Brethren, Illinois, 1955-1956; Wabash Church of the Brethren 1956-1963; Missionary in Nigeria Mission Field 1963-1969; Pastor at Eel River Church of the Brethren 1963-1969; Church Executive at South Central District Ministry 1971-1993. On Aug. 20, 1950, he married Margaret M. James. She died Dec. 8, 2014.
He is survived by son: Daniel Mark (Amy) Petry, Middlebury; daughters: Dianne Louise (Rich) Wion, North Manchester; and Darlene Kay (Doug) Miller, Dillsburg, Pa.; brothers: Ronald D. (Beverly) Petry, North Manchester; Larry W. (Alice) Petry, Akron, Ohio; sister: Miriam E. Bernhard, Sebring, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. One great-grandchild is deceased.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester. The family will receive friends following the service until 4 p.m. Pastor Kurt Borgmann and Pastor Karen Eberly will officiate. Burial in Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Silver Lake.
