WARSAW — “One of the biggest challenges facing many good people in America today is a feeling of hopelessness and despair; of being misunderstood, alienated, isolated or even irrelevant, a feeling of being stuck in a situation far beyond their control. While many dream of a better life filled with hope, direction, and success for themselves and their children, they see no clear path to change.” Explains, Chris Mahan, a Certified Professional Coach who has teamed with legendary educator and social entrepreneur, Berry Fowler, and the Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching to provide life coach training scholarships to those who want to make a difference in our community.
It’s not about a conversation – it’s about a solution.
“For the past several years, experts have been telling us we need a conversation to fix this problem, but they’re wrong,” explains, Berry Fowler, a former classroom teacher who founded Sylvan Learning Centers in 1979. “It’s not a conversation we need; it’s an active and engaging solution that’s going to make a difference. And, that’s why we created Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching’s HOPE Community Coaching Initiative.”
In 2008, Berry Fowler and his wife, Anne, began teaching others to become life coaches. To date, through the Fowler Academy of Professional Coaching, they have trained and certified over 6,000 life coaches around the world.
“Now it’s time to pay it forward,” states Anne Fowler. “Our goal is to recruit and train motivated individuals who have a genuine desire to help others and their communities by providing cost-free life coaching to deserving people in their local area.”
To accomplish this, the Fowler’s are awarding scholarships to people who want to become Certified Community Coaches. Recipients receive complete, online, professional life coach training as they prepare to help others.
No one gets a free ride.
“HOPE Community Coach scholarships come with a catch,” proclaims Mahan. “Students must pledge to follow the Fowler Academy’s Coaches Code of Ethics and commit to provide free coaching to at least five clients within their first year of coaching.”
HOPE scholarships range from $100 to $500 or more, and may be used to offset the current tuition of $795 for FIA’s complete community coach training program.
