Kruger, Creason Artwork on View

We will be privileged with two lovely art exhibits this month. Marilyn Kruger, an Indiana native from Akron grew up knowing she would be an artist. She had an aunt who was a professional who taught and encouraged her from an early age. Her first formal art education was at the Cincinnati Academy of Art, also the Famous Art School for commercial artists. Kruger worked in the commercial field following this training but found her love was in fine art. She married and moved to California where she honed her skills at the University of California La Jolla Extension and credits this with greater depth in painting skills and also “challenged me with new areas of abstract design and color theory.”
Kruger’s work drew attention and by 1969 she was teaching Beginning Oil Skills classes in the San Francisco Bay area and continued there until semi-retirement brought her back to her home territory of Akron Indiana. Today Kruger teaches private students at her studio in Akron where she continues to work in oil and acrylics and competes in 10 to 12 art exhibits per year. Kruger invariably wins awards in these competitions for her creations—and they are creations utilizing special paper, oils, watercolors, and acrylics—you simply must see her work.
Kruger offers appointments to those who would like to see her private gallery or take lessons. She also does commissioned work. Kruger also has works at Artistica Gallery in Wabash Indiana. She can be reached at [email protected]
You can see Kruger’s unique and award winning work now through October at the Warsaw City Hall Art Gallery. Hours 8 to 5 pm Monday through Friday except Holidays.
Also this month you can find an exhibit by Sarah Creason at Lakeland Art Gallery. With work located at LAA located at 302 E. Winona Avenue, Warsaw, Creason has evolved into a spectacular impressionistic artist whose work is spellbinding. Creason has always been generous with her talent and encourages other artists continually by teaching them new skills. Creason is a person who displays a positive outlook in spite of the many hurdles and challenges she has faced. Creason has fought cancer, and won, seven times. She also teaches a class called “Art side by side with cancer” in conjunction with Cancer Services of Fort Wayne, IN. Creason’s home studio called “fishtales” is a welcome and lively place for her cheerleading energy and wonderful teaching skills. The other work alongside Creason’s work this month is from many of her students and those who have been inspired by her courage and artistic talent. Please stop by this gallery open 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and enjoy the work of this talented artist.
