Donnabelle Monhaut
Donnabelle “Donsie” J. (Hepler) Monhaut, 83, Nappanee, died at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. She was born June 3, 1933, in Kosciusko County to Fred O. and Mary Louise Mays Hepler. She attended Bechnell School in Scott Township and graduated from Nappanee High School in 1951. After graduation she went to work at Ulines, Nappanee, then on to CTS Corporation, Elkhart, retiring in 1992 after 40 years. 56 years ago on Oct. 10, 1959, she married Edward H. Monhaut.
In the winter, Donnabelle did crocheting, landscape painting, bird watching, sewing and made silk flower corsages. In the summer, she enjoyed garden work, lawn care and traveling.
She is survived by her husband: Ed; brothers: Eldon “Roney” Hepler, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Russell (Ardala) Hepler, LaGrange; sister: Ruth (Merlin) Yoder, Nappanee; sisters-in-law: Martha Monhaut, Bremen; Helen Smogor, Mishawaka; Cecilia (Wiliam) Dolan, South Bend; and Joan Richard, South Bend; brothers-in-law: Richard (Norma) Monhaut, Bremen; and Patrick (Joyce) Monhaut, Bremen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law: James and Dorothy Hepler; brothers: Allen Hepler; Willard Hepler; and Richard Hepler; sister: Florence Fleck; sisters-in-law: Jane (Eldon) Hepler; Margaret (Lewis) Williams; and Ruth Monhaut; and brothers-in-law: Richard Fleck; Joseph Monhaut; and Ralph (Irene) Monhaut
Family and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, all at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Donnabelle’s brother, Rev. Russell Hepler will officiate and burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery.
