Bonnie Jean Hepler
Bonnie Jean Hepler, 89, Nappanee, died peacefully at 5:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at her residence. She had been in ill health following a stroke 13 years ago. She was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Nappanee on the family farm to George and Gladys (Kring) Grimm. She lived her lifetime in this area. She was a graduate of Etna Green High School. On Oct. 11, 1947 she married Alfred “Chub” Hepler. He preceded her in death June 2, 2014.
Mrs. Hepler had worked at Family Fare and Martins Supermarkets for over 26 years. She was a loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She was a great cook.
She is survived by her daughter: Elaine (Steve) Hartman, Goshen; grandchildren: Brittney (Craig) Louzon, Bremen; Taylor Hartman, Goshen; and sisters: JoAnn (Gene) Bartlet, Seattle, Wash.; and Sue Ringenberg, Nappanee. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Lorene Harman; Marilyn Grimm; and brothers: George Jr.; Carlyle; Max; and Bill Grimm.
Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and for one hour prior to the funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, also at the funeral home. Rev. Matt Wheeler, Pastor at Sugar Grove Church, will officiate and burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
