WARSAW — Libraries have long been a source for information and technology has by no means changed that.
Now, through several online databases, Warsaw Community Public Library patrons can use their library cards to access information on a number of topics right from their homes.
To access the databases, users can go here and click on the “reference” tab, then click “online resources.” Some particularly helpful databases include the following.
Mango Languages: Those wishing to learn or study a new language have a useful tool through Mango Languages. Users will first need to create a username and password. Once that is done, they will have access to numerous languages, like Spanish, French, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese and Greek, to name a few.
ChiltonLibrary: Through ChiltonLibrary.com, users can learn just about anything they need to know about the automotive world, from maintenance and repairs to specifications on makes and models. A recall list is another of the many features.
Standard and Poor’s: Standard and Poor’s Online gives users access to information on stock, bond and mutual fund reports. Users can search companies or browse directories and use screeners for stocks, private companies, mutual funds, corporations and corporate bonds, for example.
Value Line: Another investment-related database is Value Line Investment Survey Online, designed to help investors find stock market information they need to know. Users can browse research, read more about markets and find daily updates. An “Investment Education” section contains articles for both beginners and the experienced.
Consumer Reports: The “Consumer Reports” database gives users access to reviews on everything from cars and household appliances to air conditioners, airlines, baby products, computers and even exercise equipment. Clicking “all products A-Z” will take the reader to a detailed, alphabetic list of categories to choose from.
Gale LegalForms: Those needing access to legal documents can do so via Gale LegalForms. This database contains links to wills and estates, real estate, bankruptcy, power of attorney information and more. Users can also find an attorney directory and dictionary of legal definitions.
