Valley XC: Vikings Back At Manchester Invite
NORTH MANCHESTER – Tippecanoe Valley found itself well back of the pack, but given an idea of what needs to be done after running in the Manchester Invite Saturday morning.
The Valley boys were 18th in the team standings, the girls in 14th place.
Leading the boys team was Justin Peconga, who landed in 78th place with a time of 20:35. Jared Mikel (20:49), Mitchell Smith (21:49), Colt Demske (22:28) and Evan Lowman (22:48) were the scorers for the Vikings.
Leading the girls team was Valeria Jimenez, taking the 62nd position with at time of 25:33. Haley Hoover (26:16), Claudia Ramos (26:18), Alyssa Bell (26:54) and Lexi Derkes (26:59).
Lakeland Christian Academy had three individual runners active, with Rye Stevens at 22:05, Trenton Parker at 22:28 and Turner Samuel at 24:09.
Michigan City’s Bryon Berg won the boys race at 16:05, with Rochester’s Thomas Rohr second at 16:20. Penn won the boys title with 50 points, Michigan City in second at 100.
Manchester’s Rae Bedke won the girls race at 19:42, outrunning Fremont’s Riley Welch who was second at 19:52. Jaelyn Webb’s sixth place run of 20:57 helped the Squires to take the team title with 73 points, besting Marian’s 94 points.
