Kenneth E. Gilliland, 91, of Plymouth, Indiana, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at 6:03 PM in Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth, Indiana.
Kenneth was born May 23, 1925 at Steele, Alabama to Sylvester and Dora Rodgers Gilliland, the oldest of six brothers and sisters. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Plymouth, a 50 year member of the Bunker Hill Masonic Lodge. He worked in the wire manufacturing for the automotive industry.
Kenneth married Grace Howell on Aug. 28, 1982 in Alabama who survives along with daughters: Sandy Lingefelter of Bristol, IN, Lori Snyder of Plymouth, Marsha (Mrs. Mike) Auld of Fort White, FL, Pat (Mrs. Kirk) Clark of Plymouth; sons: Rex (Kathleen) Gilliland of Plymouth, Dennis Gilliland of Seymour, IN, Roger (Lila) Gilliland of Kokomo, IN, Tim (Gina) Howell of Plymouth, Claude (Cathy) Howell Plymouth. He was further blessed with fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; a sister Ruby Phillips of Steele, AL; brothers: Ellis Lee Gilliland of Steele, Al, Bill Gilliland of Steele, Al, H.S. Gilliland of Steele, AL Mark Gilliland of Ringold, GA and Corley Gilliland of Pell City, AL.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Burl Gilliland.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
