Girls Golf
The Warsaw girls golf team lost a close match to host Plymouth Wednesday evening.
The host Pilgrims topped the Tigers 187-193 in the Northern Lakes Conference contest at the Pretty Lake Golf Course.
Madi Graham paced the Tigers with a 43.
Delaney Wihebrink shot a 48 and Madelyn Ray and Izzy Ray each finished with a 51 for Warsaw. Page Desenberg shot a 52.
Katie Johnson of Plymouth was medalist with a 39.
Warsaw drops to 7-5 overall and goes to 1-4 in NLC play.
Warsaw won the junior varsity match 245-252. Grayson Kilburn was JV medalist for the Tigers with a 51. Madison Martz and Valerie Messmore each shot a 64, Miriam Hagg a 66 and Cassidy Good a 73 for Warsaw. The Warsaw JV team improves to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in league play.
Warsaw returns to NLC action by hosting NorthWood and Goshen Thursday at Stonehenge at 5 pm.
Boys Tennis
A pair of three-set wins helped the Warsaw boys tennis team post a 4-1 win at Culver Academy.
Colton Lind led a singles sweep for the Tigers with a 6-2, 6-7 (2-7), 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.
Andrew Gauger won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 and David Homme posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 to complete the singles action for Warsaw.
Justin Stout and Ryan Wettschurack won 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles for the Tigers.
Culver’s lone win came at No. 2 doubles as George DeVries and Henry Bilicic topped Hayden Steger and Spencer Britton 6-2, 6-1.
Warsaw improves to 4-2 on the season with the non-conference win.
The Tigers won the junior varsity action 8-4. Winners in singles play for Warsaw were Bailey Buhrt, Kyler Bartol, Ethan Hoff (twice). Winning in doubles action were the teams of Nolan Knight and Brian Elliott, Jake Kauffman and Hawkins Ragland, Kanton Waddle and Dawson Villama and Brian Elliott and Reuben Williams.
The Tigers host conference foe Plymouth Thursday at 5 p.m.
Boys Soccer
The Warsaw boys soccer team dropped a 3-1 final to Concord in Northern Lakes Conference play.
The visiting Minutemen tallied a pair of goals early in the contest en route to a 3-0 halftime lead in the league match.
Eric O’Cock scored the lone goal for the Tigers.
Warsaw drops to 0-2-2 overall and 0-2 in NLC play. The Tigers will play Blackhawk Christian in the Carroll Tournament Thursday night.
Concord won the junior varsity match 2-1. The Warsaw JV team drops to 3-1 overall and goes to 1-1 in the NLC.
