Wawasee Sports Wrap: Aug. 29
Girls Soccer
The Wawasee girls soccer team fell 3-0 to Concord in a rescheduled conference game. Originally scheduled for Saturday but moved due to severe weather, the game was played Monday night.
“We fought hard throughout tonight,” said Wawasee head coach Doug Heinisch. “This is the most competitive we’ve been with Concord in a long time. Kayla White deserves recognition for another strong game in goal.”
C-Team/JV Volleyball
The Wawasee C-team and JV volleyball teams hosted the Goshen Blue Blazers Monday night.
The C-team won 25-22, 20-25, 15-13 to move to 2-1 on the year. Grace Morrison led the team with 15 assists while Aundreya Wegener had 25 digs and Madison Mottern had five blocks.
The JV team fell 3-1 (25-11, 24-25, 25-18, 25-12). Elizabeth Kleopfer led the way with six kills. Caitlin Wortinger added 17 digs while Janae Hapner had three blocks.
The C-team will play Plymouth and Concord Tuesday at Concord. The JV squad (7-2) will play at Manchester.
