Lakeland Christian Academy Sports Wrap: Aug. 30
Volleyball
The Lakeland Christian Academy volleyball team dropped a 3-0 final Tuesday night to Culver Academy.
The visiting Eagles topped the Cougars 25-15, 25-18, 25-14 in the varsity matchup in Winona Lake.
Kyle Kohler led the way for the Cougars with four aces, four kills, four digs and six assists on the night.
Carlie Wise had an ace to go with two digs, a kill and an assist. Cami Dahms had three kills, six digs and an assist. Heather Plastow had six digs and Natalie Plastow an ace and four digs.
Baylee Wiley finished with an ace, a dig and three kills. Jessica Slone had an ace, a kill and a dig, while Morgan Ziebarth had a kill and Kaitlyn Binegar three digs.
CGA won the junior varsity match 25-3, 25-4.
LCA returns to action at Granger Christian on Thursday night.
Boys Soccer
The Lakeland Christian Academy boys soccer team found the net often Tuesday night.
The Cougars poured in nine goals in downing host Winamac by a 9-4 final.
LCA took a 4-2 halftime lead before tallying the first four goals of the final half to build an 8-2 edge.
The trio of Garrett McComb, Noel Blum and Parker Stewart each had two goals to lead the offense for the winners. Mark McQuade and Theran McKeever each had one goal for LCA.
The duo of McComb and Blum each picked up two assists, while Stewart, McKeever and Jacob Harman each had one for the Cougars.
Goalie Remington Swanson had five saves for the Cougars.
LCA, now 4-2, plays at Argos Thursday night.
