Kaila Cheyanne Cearbaugh
Kaila Cheyanne Cearbaugh, 22, Larwill, passed away at 9:53 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. Born October 12, 1993 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Kelly Meredith and Ashley Anne (Dunn) Cearbaugh.
She graduated from Columbia City High School with the class of 2012 and attended Ivy Tech Community College for two years. She had worked at Whitley County YMCA in the childcare center and started working at Columbia City High School in April of this year as a resource assistant for special needs children.
“Kaila loved her family and friends. She was the life of every party and lived life to the fullest. Her caring heart showed at her job working with special needs children. Kaila loved the outdoors and taking care of animals. She was an extraordinary gift we were blessed with for 22 short years. Kaila loved Christ and is waiting with Him until we are all together again.”
Survivors include her parents, Kelly M. and Ashley A. Cearbaugh, Larwill; sister, Drew A. Cearbaugh, Larwill; maternal grandfather, Errol (Sandy Wysong) Dunn, Columbia City; paternal grandparents, Fred and Sharon Cearbaugh, Columbia City; uncles and aunts, Kent and Linda Cearbaugh, Columbia City, Kevin and Paula Cearbaugh, Columbia City, Darrin and Lori Dunn, Albion and Meghan and Trent Lawrence,
Tacoma, Wash.; nephew, Elias Wiggins, of Larwill; and many loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Becky (Rump) Dunn.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
