ELKHART — Multiple Elkhart stores were blocked Thursday afternoon as police served a warrant.

It happened outside a home on the 2000 block of Kulp Avenue near the Big R on S. Main Street.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, police went to the home at the request of the Warsaw Police Department.

Jeremy Sommers was wanted in Warsaw on unspecified charges. Police say he refused to come out of the home initially. As officers prepared to enter the home, Sommers voluntarily came out.

He’ll be transported to Warsaw and released into their custody.

According to one viewer, a number of stores in the immediate area were blocked by the significant police response.
