Panthers Prevail In NLC Golf Opener
PLYMOUTH – The NorthWood girls golf team rolled to a record with a pair of convincing conference wins Monday.
Summer Stillson and Mackenzie Weaver led the way as the Panthers opened Northern Lakes Conference action by topping host Plymouth and Elkhart Memorial at the Pretty Lake Golf Course.
Stillson and Weaver each shot a 41 as the Panthers finished at 177. Plymouth shot 197 and Memorial finished at 247 in the NLC opener.
NorthWood has now won 25 straight dual matches dating back to 2013. That tops the previous mark of 24.
Alaina Benjamine shot a 47, while Madison Richner finished with a 48 and Abby Slabaugh a 52 in the win.
Lauren Kolter had a 42 and Katie Johnson a 46 to pace Plymouth.
Courtney King led Memorial with a 47.
NorthWood won the JV contest with a 228, Hope Cripe of the Panthers was medalist with a 50.
NorthWood will host Fairfield Tuesday at McCormick Creek in Nappanee.
