Grace Volleyball Duo Honored By League
WINONA LAKE – Taylor Baird and Caylie Teel of the Grace College volleyball team were honored as Players of the Week by the Crossroads League on Tuesday.
Baird was the league’s Setter of the Week after helping Grace to a 3-1 record at the Concordia Tournament. She was named to the All-Tournament Team after dishing out 109 assists. She racked up 38 assists in a three-setter against Siena Heights. She also had multiple digs in every match and added three block assists and three kills for the Lady Lancers.
Teel, a former standout at Tippecanoe Valley High School, was the league’s Defender of the Week. The sophomore led Grace’s backline with 51 digs in four matches. She did not have a receiving error in 65 chances. Teel’s best performance came with 15 digs in just three sets against Lawrence Tech.
The Lady Lancers are gearing up for their home opener on Saturday. Grace will host IU Kokomo at 1 p.m. at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.
