Terry George Thompson
Terry George Thompson, 76, Goshen, formerly of Milford, died Friday morning, Aug. 19, 2016, at his home.
He was born July 5, 1940, in Ludlow Falls, Ohio, to George and Lois (Pfeiffer) Thompson. On Sept. 5, 1965, he married Martha “Marti” Stauffer in Osceola. She survives along with a daughter, Beth Ann Thompson, Elkhart; a son, Rick (Amy) Thompson, of Baltimore, Md.; three granddaughters: Megan, Lauren and Xandra; a brother, James (Mary) Thompson, Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Joy (Bill) Sauder, Churubusco; and two sisters-in-law: Janine Katona, Forest Park, Ill., and Roma Jo Thompson, Bridgewater, Va.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Joel and R. Jan Thompson.
A Milford resident since 1972, Terry worked for Cardinal Services, Warsaw, for 12 years and Walmart for 17 years.
He was an active member of Milford First Brethren Church. His hobby was his interest in fire department equipment. He was a volunteer firefighter for most of his life, serving on departments in Ludlow Falls, Ohio, Shipshewana, Milford and New Windsor, Md.
Terry also served as a Scout Master for Troop 747 in Milford.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where an 11 a.m. memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 23. Pastor Lee Compson, Milford First Brethren Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton, Ohio, at a later date.
