Local Business Honors Family Members And Celebrates Second Anniversary
WARSAW — Michelle Smith LeDrew is the owner of a downtown boutique, Glam. This October, Glam will be celebrating their second anniversary with the event “Glam 2.0”. Glam will be hosting a runway show, champagne bar, hors d’ oeuvres, a live makeover reveal and a pop-up shop sponsored by One Ten, The Simple Soiree and J Three.
The kickoff event will be a runway show at 7:30 p.m Thursday, Oct. 6. The runway show will feature the fall and winter line and will include a champagne bar and hors d’ oeuvres. During the show, a live reveal will be done of the recipient of the Glam makeover. Over 20 women have been nominated for the makeover. A small panel will decide who will receive hair and makeup done by J Three and a new outfit from Glam.
To honor LeDrew’s father Charlie Smith and her brother Scott Smith, who passed away last year, a portion of proceeds from the event will go towards the Smithstrong Foundation Fund The Smithstrong Foundation Fund gives a scholarship to an outstanding student athlete at Tippecanoe Valley High School, where Charlie Smith was the first football coach.
LeDrew is excited she gets to celebrate the second anniversary of the boutique she says is her dream job. “I’m so blessed…I don’t come to work every day. I’m living my dream,” said LeDrew. She states she has worked in all aspects of the fashion industry. LeDrew has been a model, personal stylist and worked in the business aspects. LeDrew owned Glam boutique in Virginia until she decided to move back to her hometown in Warsaw. Then she decided she needed to, “Bring Glam to Warsaw,” two years ago.
LeDrew says Glam focuses more on an experience rather than simply selling clothing. “In an age where customer service is nonexistent, we thrive on that,” said LeDrew. Making relationships with customers and finding the perfect item for women is what LeDrew strives to do everyday.
One of the goals for the boutique is to offer something for everyone. “The boutique is not only for a size two or the 20 year old,” says LeDrew. She desires to find pieces that transcend borders and help all women discover clothing they love to wear.
“I’m passionate about making other women feel good by looking good,” said LeDrew.
Tickets to Glam 2.0 can be purchased online or at Glam for $30.
