Harold J. East — UPDATED
Harold Jr. East, 88, Warsaw, died at 6:50 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, in his family’s Warsaw home.
He was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Warsaw, to Delbert and Glea (Rider) East. He married Sheron K. Shafer, June 28, 1980 in Mentone. He was a farmer all of his life and a foreman for Warsaw Plating Works, retiring in 1993 after more than 40 years. He was known by his friends and family as “old fart.” He loved eating breakfast with his friends and fhte farmers at Teel’s Restaurant. He loved farming, gardening, working outside and mowing. Most of all, he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sheron; his daughter: Connie (Jerry) Zolman, Mentone; four step0daughters: Debbi Taylor, Warsaw; Misty Hall, Warsaw; Christine Miller, Warsaw; Tracy Watkins, Silver Lake; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister: Geraldine East, Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Betty LeWallen; a son: Larry East; and one great-granddaughter.
A visitation with the family will be held from 10 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Aug. 20, in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw with the funeral service following. Pastor Howard Immel, First Brethren Church, Warsaw, will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
