Santillan Deals TinCaps A Loss
DAYTON, Ohio – Tony Santillan struck out 10 over 5 2/3 innings, and Ryan Hendrix was also effective on the mound, as the Dayton Dragons shut down the Fort Wayne TinCaps in a 2-0 win on Wednesday.
Sarkis Ohanian struck Tyler Moore out with a runner on first to end the game for his 13th save of the season.
Santillan (2-2) picked up the win after he walked three while allowing one hit.
Dayton scored its runs when Alberti Chavez hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning and Chavez hit a solo home run in the seventh.
Emmanuel Ramirez (2-1) went six innings, allowing one run and five hits in the Midwest League game. He also struck out eight and walked two.
The TinCaps were held off the scoreboard for the 14th time this season, while the Dragons’ staff recorded their ninth shutout of the year.
Dayton improved to 9-4 against Fort Wayne this season, and the two teams will meet for the final time this season Thursday in a 7 p.m. start in Dayton.
