WARSAW — An Illinois-based medical device supplier will cut the ribbon Thursday afternoon on its first Indiana operation. Banner Medical detailed its move to Warsaw late last year.
The new material processing center is expected to employ about 75 people in The Orthopedic Capital of the World by 2019.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation says a dozen Banner Medical workers are already in place and current openings include grinder operators, ultra-sonic testers, water-jet cutters and laboratory technicians.
The company serves clients in the orthopedic, spine, extremities, instrument and dental markets, dozens of which are already located in the Kosciusko County city.
The $6.3 million investment will support the Banner Service Corp. subsidiary, which launched in 2008. In an interview published last September in Inside Indiana Business’s Life Sciences Indiana monthly e-newsletter (subscribe for free here), the company said it believes the new facility will bring in even more business from other Warsaw businesses.
Banner Medical also hopes to develop training programs with the local Ivy Tech Community College campus.
