Loretta M. Thomas
Loretta Mae Thomas, 78, Bremen, passed away at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, in Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart. Loretta was born at home on June 25, 1938, to Herschel and Pearl LaVerne (Young) Fisher. She graduated from Bremen High School in 1956. On June 8, 1958, she married her true love, Lee B. Thomas. They celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Cheryl Enfield, Elkhart; her precious grandson: Justin D. (Lyndsey Mullins) Enfield, Elkhart; and her beautiful great-grandchildren: Maeli; and Julian Enfield. Also surviving are her mother: Pearl LaVerne Fisher, Bourbon; and siblings: Carolyn (George A.) Reed Jr., Nappanee; Bill (Diana) Fisher, Bourbon; and Donna (Larry) Lemler, Bourbon; sister-in-law: Kathy (John) Carlson, Plymouth; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by close friends: Melvin (Janet) Lemler, Bourbon. She is preceded in death by her husband: Lee; son: Keith; and father: Herschel.
Loretta retired from First Federal Saving Bank of Bremen in 2003 after 20 years of service. She also was employed by Meister Drugs of Bremen. She enjoyed family camping vacations, playing cards, family dinners and her church. She was a member of Shiloh Wesleyan Church of Plymouth. Most of all, she loved time spent with her grandson and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in Shiloh Wesleyan Church, Plymouth, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Rich Van Vuren will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation, Rockville, Md.
