Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
5:23 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, East CR 200N east of North CR 300E, Warsaw. Driver: Courtney B. Ratliff, 23, Sophie Lane, Warsaw. Ratliff’s vehicle hit a downed tree. Damage up to $5,000.
11:38 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, North CR 700W and West CR 400N, Atwood. Driver: Erin K. Kintzel, 23, West Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Kintzel became distracted and her vehicle went into a ditch, striking a cement culvert and coming to rest in a field. Damage up to $5,000.
7:28 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, East CR 1000N west of North CR 700E, Syracuse. Driver: Maria E. Gonzalez, 59, East Doswell Boulevard, Cromwell. Gonzalez fell asleep while driving and her vehicle hit a NIPSCO utility pole. Damage up to $25,000.
10:37 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, East US 30 east of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Neil R. Teatsorth, 55, South Main Street, Findlay, Ohio. Teatsorth’s vehicle hit a dog. The dog was not wearing a collar and an owner could not be located. Damage up to $5,000.
4:27 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, North CR 300E north of East Armstrong Road. Driver: Vannah K. Vongphachanh, 44. Sweet Cider Road, Fort Wayne. A trailer behind Vongphachanh’s vehicle hit a mailbox, then jackknifed as Vongphachanh attempted to correct. The vehicle hit a second mailbox. Damage up to $2,500.
2:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, East US 30 and south CR 250E, Warsaw. Drivers: Kimberly K. McCord, 30, Krista Lane, Winona Lake, and Ashley M. Kerlin, 29, Adams Street, Wabash. McCord’s vehicle turned into the path of Kerlin’s oncoming vehicle and they collided. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:19 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, Lake City Highway west of North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Peter N. Beers, 19, North Michigan Street, Plymouth, and Kevin M. Duffy, 30, Tower Side Drive, Fairfax, Va. Beers’ vehicle rear-ended Duffy’s vehicle, which was stopped in traffic in a construction zone. Damage up to $2,500.
6:42 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, East Market Street and South Hickory Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Chris L. Rhoades, 53, South CR 675W, Warsaw, and Michael L. Flory, 44, North Park Avenue, Warsaw. Rhoades turned his vehicle into the intersection and it collided with Flory’s moped, which was stopped at the stop sign. Damage up to $2,500.
