AKRON — As the 2016-17 school year begins, Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation is accepting applications in several key areas. A variety of positions are open at Akron Elementary, Tippecanoe Valley Middle School and Tippecanoe Valley High School. These are wonderful opportunities for those looking for part-time work and who wish to use their skills to contribute to the education of the community’s children.
Akron Elementary School welcomes applications from those interested in either a paraprofessional position or a cook position. Both are 25-hour-per-week, five-hour-per-day positions and require a high school diploma or equivalent. These positions require neat appearance, a positive attitude, the ability to work alone or in a team and a high degree of self-motivation. Tippecanoe Valley Middle School is accepting applications for one cook position. This position is a 28.75-hour-per-week, 5.75-hour-per-day position. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent. This position also requires a neat appearance, positive attitude, the ability to work alone or in a team, the ability to multitask, a patient, cooperative, child-centered attitude and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Tippecanoe Valley High School is accepting applications for two part-time cooks and two part-time custodians. Both positions have a cap of 28 hours per week. All applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a neat appearance and positive attitude and the ability to work alone or in a team. Self-motivation is also a priority for these positions. Applicants should be able to lift 50 pounds. Salaries start at $9 per hour for cooks and $9.45 per hour for custodians.
