Irvin Overmyer
Irvin was born on March 13, 1925, at Burr Oak, to Roy and Goldie (Kring) Overmyer and was a lifelong resident. Irvin was a brick layer. He belonged to Brick Layers and Allied Craft workers. He was a long time member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Maxinkuckee Lodge #373, and was a Past Grand Master, Masonic Lodge of Plymouth and a faithful member of Pretty Lake United Methodist Church. Irvin married Jane Cooper on Dec. 19, 1948, she passed away July 28, 2013.
He is survived by his granddaughter: Angela Zellers, Indianapolis; three sisters: Marilyn Kuskye; Joyce Sarber; and Catherine Bennett; along with two brothers: Dale; and Richard Overmyer. Irvin is preceded in passing by his daughter: Jill Boettcher; and his sister: Betty Schrimsher.
A memorial service in honor of Irvin will be held at the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, Plymouth, at noon Saturday, Aug. 20, with Pastor Tammy Boggs officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Burr Oak Cemetery, Culver.
The family requests memorial contributions in honor of Irvin are made to Pretty Lake United Methodist Church, Marshall County Humane Society or Maxinkuckee Odd Fellows Lodge #373.
