Gary D. Lawson — UPDATED
Gary D. Lawson, 58, Big Lake, passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016 at his home.
Born Oct. 26, 1957 in Anderson, he was the son of David R. and C. Betty (Moore) Lawson.
He grew up in Anderson and graduated from Anderson High School with the Class of 1976. After graduating, Gary moved to the Columbia City area where he had grown up spending time at Big Lake. He had worked for 28 years at Dana in Syracuse, Bosch in Albion and the past few years for Warsaw Machinery Inc. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling and was an avid NASCAR and Tony Stewart fan.
Survivors include his daughters: Alethea Lawson, Columbia City; Stefanie (Quimby McCoy) Lawson, Columbia City; Ellesha (Andy) Hughes, Warsaw; and Kary (Trent) Lawson, Columbia City; brothers: Rick (Vicki) Lawson, Albion; and Michael (Vicky) Lawson Sr., Ligonier; grandchildren: Alexis, Isabella, Izaiah, Cameron, Lillyn, Lincoln and Jaxson; nieces and nephews: Michelle (Paul) Schuyler, Donald (Jeni) Ferguson, Melissa (Kevin Creamer) Pleeger, Melody (Scott) Buckles and Christopher (Jenny) Lawson; and a special friend, Connie Chaney, of Big Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Stevens; and a nephew, Michael Lawson Jr.
Visitation is from 2-6 p.m.Thursday, Aug. 18 with a funeral service to follow at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
