Ernie Wiggins Applies To Fill Vacant Seat In Kosciusko County Council
WARSAW — Previous mayor of Warsaw, Ernie Wiggins, has applied to fill the vacant seat in the District 3 Kosciusko County Council seat.
Wiggins acknowledges Brad Tandy’s recent resignation from the Council, leaving an open spot for Wiggins to fill, will be leaving the Council with, “A little bit of a void,” said Wiggins. However, Wiggins believes his experience will help him to fill this role.
He served as mayor of Warsaw from 1997-2011. Wiggins was also on the city council from 1984-1997. Wiggins is currently a certified public accountant at Ramsey & Wiggins Inc.
Wiggins decided to fill out the application to run because he said, “I’ve been encouraged by a number of people to run.”
Because Wiggins has experience with the budgeting process, he believes he will be able to lend his experience in helping with the current budgeting meetings the Council is going through right now.
Wiggins graduated from Warsaw High School and went on to graduate from Purdue with degrees in Economics and Industrial Management. After college, he obtained his CPA in 1980. Wiggins has been married for 36 years, has two children and three grandchildren.
